Farewell to Cameron Richards

Gwent crematorium was packed on Friday as friends, family, work colleagues and comrades said farewell to South Wales activist Cameron Richards.

No2ID - with friends like this, who needs enemies?

It’s a general rule of thumb in politics that anyone who includes the word ‘freedom’ in their name is an enemy of it. The Freedom Association, a capitalist organisation with strong links to the Conservative party, care only about their freedom to exploit; when they defend civil liberties, it is their own right to conduct their own affairs in secrecy with which they are concerned.

Cardiff Socialist Forum - onwards and upwards

The Cardiff Radical Socialist Forum met for the second time last night to discuss the united front tactic, specifically as it relates to the fight against fascism. Numbers were up from the first meeting, with activists coming from Swansea and Newport to join a variety of Cardiff socialists and anarchists in a constructive and informative discussion entirely free of wooden sectarian posturing.

Three arrested in Cardiff as Prosor creeps in through the back entrance

There was a distinct whiff of occupied Palestine in Cardiff Bay yesterday as police declared an exclusion zone around the back entrance to the Senedd - then dealt violently with activists who entered it. The occasion was the visit of Israeli ambassador Ron Prosor, fervent apologist for Zionism and scourge of any normal sentient human being who takes exception to the racist state which employs him.

Cardiff gets harried - now let's harry Bush

It’s been a busy year for Henry Charles Albert David Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg. Firmly ensconced as British imperialism’s favourite poster-boy, ‘Prince Harry’ has been shunted around the world in search of photo-opportunities and this week wound up in Cardiff, capital city of the nation whose name he presumes as his own.

As demo day approaches, let's get the St Athan arguments right!

While the campaign against the privatised military academy at St Athan has been steadily growing, it has yet to register on the radar of the mass media. That will hopefully change after the demo in Cardiff on April 26th, which now features on the Stop The War homepage and looks set to pull in a big crowd. With increased media scrutiny, however, it is vital that campaigners get their facts right and are prepared for the arguments which our enemies will undoubtedly raise.

Abortion: right-wing roadshow rumbles towards Cardiff

If someone made a film called “Ann Widdecombe - Passion for Life” you’d no doubt assume it was a comedy. But there is nothing funny about the Passion for Life roadshow which is heading for Cardiff on March 4th. Widdecombe and her cronies from an unholy alliance of anti-abortion groups aim to set the clock back to the time when women had no rights over their own bodies.

St Athan protest creates more wind from big Rod

For a man supposedly fluent in both Welsh and English, Wales First Minister Rhodri Morgan sometimes struggles to make any sense at all. His comment on the anti-St Athan protest at the Senedd on Jan 17 was a prime example, writes a Welsh PR activist. . .

Welsh Assembly elections: why voting Nobody is going Nowhere

South Wales Anarchist Network and UKIP may seem strange bedfellows, but they are united in one belief: Wales does not need a National Assembly. In a recent appearance on BBC's Question Time, Wales' First Minister Rhodri Morgan endured public humiliation as he refused to utter a word on the subject of Iraq.
