Keith Harvey was reminding the Cardiff Radical Socialist Forum that
the course of the election campaign turned on the collapse of

It’s a general rule of thumb in politics that anyone who
includes the word ‘freedom’ in their name is an enemy of it. The

the Conservative party, care only about their freedom to exploit;
when they defend civil liberties, it is their own right to conduct
their own affairs in secrecy with which they are concerned.

There was a distinct whiff of occupied Palestine in
Cardiff Bay yesterday as police declared an exclusion zone around
the back entrance to the Senedd - then dealt violently with
activists who entered it. The occasion was the visit of Israeli
ambassador Ron Prosor, fervent apologist for Zionism and scourge of
any normal sentient human being who takes exception to the racist
state which employs him.

While the campaign against the privatised military academy at St Athan has been steadily growing, it has yet to register on the radar of the mass media. That will hopefully change after the demo in Cardiff on April 26th, which now features on the
Stop The War homepage and looks set to pull in a big crowd. With increased media scrutiny, however, it is vital that campaigners get their facts right and are prepared for the arguments which our enemies will undoubtedly raise.

Those considering taking a course with the Open University might like to think again following remarks by the OU’s Wales director this week. In response to a demo against the OU’s involvement in the proposed St Athan military academy, Rob Humphries made the following statement:
“The University recognises that Britain’s armed services play a vital part in peacekeeping activities all over the world”

If someone made a film called “Ann Widdecombe - Passion for Life” you’d no doubt assume it was a comedy. But there is nothing funny about the Passion for Life roadshow which is heading for Cardiff on March 4th. Widdecombe and her cronies from an unholy alliance of anti-abortion groups aim to set the clock back to the time when women had no rights over their own bodies.

For a man supposedly fluent in both Welsh and English, Wales First Minister Rhodri Morgan sometimes struggles to make any sense at all. His
comment on the anti-St Athan protest at the Senedd on Jan 17 was a prime example, writes a Welsh PR activist. . .

South Wales Anarchist Network and UKIP may seem strange bedfellows, but they are united in one belief: Wales does not need a National Assembly. In a recent appearance on BBC's Question Time, Wales' First Minister Rhodri Morgan endured public humiliation as he refused to utter a word on the subject of Iraq.
