What constitutes a genuinely independent youth organisation? (PR6)
To the comrades of Permanent Revolution:
At our international conference in July, we agreed on the “Theses on independent youth organisations” to explain why we are convinced that revolutionary youth organisations must be independent. I’d like to add some comments in response to the article by Stuart King in the last issue of Permanent Revolution (PR).

Building a revolutionary youth movement (PR5)
The explosion of youth action against the lords of globalisation poses the question - how do we rally youth for the revolutionary overthrow of capitalism?Tue 09, October 2007 @ 16:10

Lessons of Revolution (PR5)
This article by Stuart King of Permanent Revolution was prompted by the split in Revolution. It takes up some of the arguments put forward by iRevo and from an Austrian comrade who had been expelled with a group of young members from the Austrian section of the LFITue 09, October 2007 @ 15:34
Youth Organisation and Lessons from the past.... (PR5)
In the trench warfare between Revolution and the LFI, the central question was whether the LFI should work as a faction within Revo. With numerous historical examples, independents in Revo tried to show that this "entryism in one's own youth organisation" had been consistently rejected by the Trotskyist movement up till now. The following document was written by the leadership of Revo Germany in June 2006 the month before the split in RevolutionWed 29, August 2007 @ 18:50
PR and the Kids: Communist Students reply to PR
As most comrades will be aware, the small British group Workers Power and its network of clone-parties the League For the Fifth International (LFI) has recently fallen on hard times. Last summer, a minority consisting largely of the group's most experienced and talented activists were ejected, forming around a new and impressively shiny publication called Permanent Revolution (as the "PR supporters network", or PRN)....by James Turley of Communist Students...Sat 18, August 2007 @ 20:39
Theses on independent youth organizations
Under capitalism, young people are subject to special forms of oppression. We get bad jobs with low wages, we suffer under the arbitrary rule of parents and teachers, are impeded in the development of our sexuality, we are not allowed to vote but can be sent to die imperialist wars, to name just a few examples....write international conference of REVOLUTION, July 28, 2007, Liberec...Sat 16, June 2007 @ 18:41

On the Question of Independent Youth Organizations
The AGM (Arbeitsgruppe Marxismus / Marxism Working Group, a Trotskyist group from Austria which split from the ASt in 1994) is familiar with the political fights between iRevo and the LFI. They have read the documents from both sides and we have discussed with several of their members in Berlin.

iRevo: perspectives of revolutionary youth work in the age of globalization
Greetings to the conference of the Permanent Revolution Tendency
We welcome the opportunity to discuss perspectives of revolutionary youth work in the age of globalization and the anti-globalization movement.
We are not going to repeat the historical arguments for an independent revolutionary youth movement, nor our analysis of the current period which makes this concept particularly important (for this see our new brochure and the iRevo statement, respectively).

The origin of the split in World Revolution
This is the personal contribution of Bill J towards the youth debate and is not an adopted position of the PR-N.
The expulsion of iRevo from World Revolution, (see WR letter dated 10/10/06), has reduced WR from an organisation with six months ago branches in several countries across Europe/Asia, to a tiny group concentrated in Leeds, with a sprinkling of national and international contacts.
